Fifth stage of alcoholism.
« on: February 25, 2022, 12:59:33 PM »
I've been drinking for 10 years, sometimes I overdrink, I go from weekends to Tuesdays (I work in a pizzeria 4 days a week). Not married and don't want to, don't want a family. I don't want anything, I want to live a life of pleasure, and I get pleasure from drinking, I don't want to give it up. My colleague told me that it gets easier after the fourth stage. She had the third stage, her craving was increasing, then she didn't drink for a year and she went to the fourth stage and after that she could go to the fifth stage and now she drinks for exactly 48 hours a week, then she stops and works. Has anyone been through to stage five? Do you have to endure a whole year? I'd like to get it right away.

I have steadily stepped into stage 4. I put crosses on the calendar before moving to stage 5, I drink non-alcoholic beer, I have less than a year to endure, the alcoholic quiz helped me understand my addiction and figure out how to proceed. Plans for the near future are to give up drinking alcohol altogether.

I actually think that everyone has different stages, for example if a person drinks a lot todrink but on weekends and there are drinkers who drink every day almost every day but control their doses and there are intoxicated who do not drink for 2 or even 6 months and then drink heavily and then come out of it, these three categories of alcoholics and the stages must manifest themselves differently

The Fifth stage of alcoholism is characterized by a strong sense of compulsion and desire to continue Scottish single malt whiskey, and also by emotional instability, mood swings and depression. This is characterized by a prolonged period of drunkenness lasting from month to month instead of from day to day. There may be an increase in irritability and physical complaints with periods of incoherence causing impairment in the person's ability to relate to others.
