"Emperor" is "Tennou", not "Tenko". And the emperor of what is now Japan was Suiko at the time. Shotoku was her regent. Anyway. Which many believe is most likely the origin of the name of Japan. Back then, the imperial family of both China and Japan were thought of being of divine desendence, so that's why the "tenko/son of heavens" part.

EDIT: It reads "tenshi" not "tenko, sorry I'm an idiot.

I'm unearthing this thread to say that I now have a functioning scanner and a lot of free time this past week, and I'm planning to post a translated version of this one-shot as soon as I figure out what I want to do with all the dense historical information in the back of the volume. Maybe tomorrow?

Nice job. I haven't read your translation yet to be honest, but going over it quickly, I saw you really did translate everything.

I planned on translating it once, back when I was working with S2Scans, but the perfectionist part of me didn't want to get any historical fact wrong, while the lazy part of me didn't want to go look back at history books I've already read a long time ago.

When I'll finally go over those history books again, I might come back here and point out everything this oneshot got right or wrong, what it left out, and so on. If you don't mind me. I'm a hopeless history nerd when I get at it.
