Tandem, I'm not sure what twist you're talking about, but if you're talking about Satan possessing the clone, it was bound to happen at some point, wasn't it? I concede it escalated quickly though. x)

I hope now Yukio won't be parasited anymore. And I hope is eye is ok. The poor guy needs a break. x)

There are so many ways the story could branch out from this point on. Should we finaly restart writting crack theories? It's been so long. My mind's not ready. I feel rusty. lol

The situation would escalate just a little more before suddenly being paused by something and then rapidly deescalate, with both sides retreating to their bases to devise plans and resume fighting another day.
With this turn of event, that would give some time to go through Shiemi's arc without Satan or even the Illuminaty being involved in it or at least not too much involved.
The one creating that pause in the fight before the deescalation could be Mephisto. On one hand, having Mephisto play that role yet again would be unoriginal I admit, but on the other hand, having him not play that role would be inconsistant, wouldn't it? Sure, he has been shot in the head and said he has to stop using his powers too much because his body is at it's limit and he "can't afford to lose it yet" or something along those lines. But, for what sort of event is he keeping his powers for? If not the resurection of Satan, I don't know what for... (Actually I have a few other ideas, but I'll tell them later.) So, in this theory, Mephisto would be the one to save the day. He could even use some power we've never seen him use before, since he did hint a few times that he has not used his full power yet. But of course, this sort of thing can't happen without consequences. Mephisto losing the body he's currently using has already been foreshadowed, so it would need to happen if he were to use his full power against Satan. Losing Mephisto now (even if just momentarily, until he finds a new body) would be shocking, even if, to be honest, we can all see it coming, we're not necessarily all quite ready for it to happen right now. And we have to see Mephisto's true form before the end of the Manga. ;)

I'll write some more theories later. I definitely have more in mind, but I've got to go now. Also, I kind of want to know whether people are actually reading this or not. x)

At least it makes sense why Mephisto refused to let Yukio view the past. Him looking at Fujimoto/clone triggered the exchange. And Satan’s obsession with Shiro... woo. And the clone’s legs... /whistle
How effective is that one drop of elixir going to be? It was worth a two month wait at least. Katou-sensei never disappoints.

I guess the Illuminati were hiding above the whole time in last chapter while Rin and others are talking, sleeping, and eating. (Maybe Iblis had been busy digging underground overnight ...), so we can have shit happening in probably just three minutes this chapter.

Anyway, now it seems Satan agrees to make the whole world into a chaos hell. Then we just have a 180 turn from a heartwarming reunion to doomsday ...

The one creating that pause in the fight before the deescalation could be Mephisto. On one hand, having Mephisto play that role yet again would be unoriginal I admit, but on the other hand, having him not play that role would be inconsistant, wouldn't it?

So far I still have the feeling that Mephisto wouldn't directly confront Satan with raw power. If he would provide any help now, I bet it will be done indirectly by Neuhaus (Armumahel-powered anti-demon gun) or Takara (still unknow capability up to this point). Then Mephisto could still stand neutral and keep holding his agreement with Satan.

Anyway, even without Mephisto intervening, we should have a little faith in Rin ... , or even Arthur and his army, if the Order still has some secret weapon to stop Satan.

But, for what sort of event is he keeping his powers for? If not the resurection of Satan, I don't know what for...

I'd bet the final battle would be Rin+Yukio vs Satan and Mephisto vs Lucifer.

Maybe we should, but I'm not sure. He just got over an internal fight with Demon!Rin by completely shuting him up. And maybe I'm wrong but I think that we will come to a point where these two realise they need to cooperate. Especially to defeat Satan. Rin couldn't even draw his sword last chapter, so I guess he has more training to do.

Right Arthur... But isn't he using demons kin of the king of light, in other words, demons Lucifer has control over? Even if they're Arthur's familiars, if Lucifer gains back control of them right after they're summoned, that would be bad...

A secret weapon... I just hope it's not Shiemi. Of all the possible scenarios I can think of, the one I look forward to the least would be one where Shiemi just awakens god-like powers, defeat Satan and save the world in a deus ex machina fashion. x/

I wonder why you put Lucifer alone in a team separate from Satan.
Right now I'm not sure if Lucifer is truly devoted to Satan, which means he would follow him no matter what he decides to do, or if he's just acting as if he was devoted to Satan while his real intention is to use him to accomplish his goal of destroying Asiha, which means if for some reasons Satan decided not to destroy Asiah after all, Lucifer would rebel against him.

I'm also interested in why you put Mephisto and Satan on the same team.
Concerning Mephisto, I have more reasons to believe he's just acting devoted to Satan but in reality he's not. But I'm not sure if he's doing this to save Asiah and help humans or if he's doing this for some other sinister plan...
For a while now, people in the fandom have talked about the idea of, while we're being led to believe from the start that Satan will be the final boss, maybe Mephisto will be the true final boss or the hidden boss, if you will. But in that senario, it's more dramatic if Mephisto betrays Satan after using him as a stepping stone, no? x)

At first, Mephisto just proposed a solution to Satan without Lucifer's involvement. Then Lucifer somehow interrupted and proposed another solution. Satan happily called it a competition about which one can finish his proposal first, but did he say he would only accept one of the proposals? So far nobody can be sure how long this new clone body would sustain, and Mephisto's proposal can still be a backup. I think Satan won't stop his agreement with Mephisto immediately.

BTW, do you think in this chapter when Lucifer looked the sky and said "I win", he's talking to Mephisto? Does that mean Lucifer thinks Mephisto is watching the situation?

About whether Lucifer would always follow Satan, don't forget Lucifer actually blew Satan in the face (although Satan seems doesn't know it's him). Now Lucifer clearly has a lot of his own agendas before Satan gives him order, so it's not clear what would happen when they have different opinions.

Both scenarios (Mephisto being the ultimate ally or being the ultimate enemy) are common tropes of a story, so for me it's hard to predict.

Until now, Mephisto seems to be satisfied with the human world. If he becomes a real enemy at the end, maybe there will be some development of his own desire, or his demon-standard plan somehow not accepted by Rin (for example to sacrifice one of the main characters).

I did think he was declaring his victory against Mephisto. But that doesn't necesarily mean Lucifer thinks Mephisto can hear him. You know, sometimes we all say things out loud even when there's no one to hear them. That being said, Mephisto might very well be listening.

Right, I shouldn't have mentioned defeating Satan, since no matter what happens, I don't think they'll defeat Satan now. Still, I think Mephisto could somehow incapacitate Satan, while I don't think Rin is in a state right now to even stall Satan. Like I said, he couldn't even draw his sword last chapter. If running away is their one and only objective, they can all run away through magic doors. But they still prepared to fight instead of immediately run away, because they must think they can't just leave Satan like that without trying to defeat him. If someone like Mephisto or Arthur would arrive and say "you don't stand a chance, leave him to me", then they might accept they should retreat. I guess.

Yeah, you're right. Arthur is the Paladin after all. It would be disapointing if he couldn't control his demons or didn't have other tricks up his sleeves.

Yeah. It's just that Lucifer is not known for lying, and he is playing the "yes, father" cassette very hard.

By the way, I didn't mention it before, but it was funny how Lucifer said "my one and only wish..." but then it was two wishes. lol. Before reading Satan's real reply, I pictured him replying "Lucifer, ... that's two..."

It has already been stated that Lucifer could destroy Asiah if he tried. What he really seem to need Satan for is to recreate the world in one way or another...
