Lol Aurthur is still fighting demons off, can't deny the guy is a great paladin. I might be forgetting things or maybe the in-manga time was actually short but wasn't he fighting non-stop since the second impure ming encounter? He's a beast.

The tension is pretty high, isn't it? It almost feels like a final arc of some sort and I really hate the idea that BE would end so fast. I think there's so much potential to this manga and although some people may dislike Katous pacing style, I personally find it essential for twists to be relevant. You don't want to end up like Dongaropa

^Mephisto doesn't want to return the barrier because he wants Rin to save the world and that higher-ups could no longer condemn him for being Satan's son. Mephisto's actually doing it for his benefit.

Nah, I don't think it would be Rin's last uniform. I think Mephisto sends him in the name of the True Cross. As their savior or something... So they could say that the True Cross also saved the world (it would be a good reclamation- it was same with Shura).

I don't think this is the final arc. The main tension is focused on the world going to hell, but the other plot threads are not at high tension yet. Rin's demon half has just been introduced as a longterm threat. Yukio's slide into becoming a monster has only just begun. Shiemi's secret is yet to be discussed.

The manga might not end with the world getting destroyed or saved. If Rin can go back and change the past, that might mean Rin can prevent the events that led to the Gate either being formed or the seal being broken. That'll stop the world from falling into chaos.

It's like the second-to-final act in Bioshock Infinite, where your player character is sent to the future, sees the world being destroyed, and gets sent back to the present with a warning and a hint. Or like "Crack in the Slab" in Dishonored 2, where you can go between the past and the present in a mansion, and use that to avoid detection.

Since Rin has to hide his demon heart and is in disguise as an exorcist complete with a camo poncho, I think he can interact with the past. Will he be tempted to stop things from happening? Like, could he prevent Shiro from dying? Could he stop Yukio from leaving? Or will he have to prioritize the world?

I could be babbling about things that won't happen. Kato might just be using this key to show Rin the past, and the world will have to live with the merging of dimensions. But... there are so many possibilities right now. So, very, many.

All I know is, this is not the end.

-The kamikakushi key apparently is just like, a master key that lets its owner go to whatever dimension they feel like, through any door (Rin is a bit miffed about not being told this earlier)
-Mephisto is like here have some sweet new clothes for your trip, it's like a camouflage poncho only cooler
-I assume that Rin either won't be able to interact with the past because he's camouflaged, or maybe it's just like an offshoot timeline that can't affect the present, I just kinda get the sense that he'll only be able to look and not alter anything.
-Rin is like okay but why not tell Yukio, I didn't REALLY want to know but he did
-Mephisto launches into a speech about how ironic it is that humans have eyes but choose not to see, and how what Yukio needs to see isn't in the past, and blah blah blah but mostly he just likes messing with people, lol. Demon and all that.
-I just wanna say how freaking cool it is that the last page there has the black flashback frame between the panels, like Rin just let a bunch of flashback-ness in by opening the door.

-Chaos is happening everywhere
-People all around the world are seeing demons, the news is reporting on it, there's a whole twitter tag like #howtofightdemons with a lot of uninformed advice on it, the US President and the Pope are making statements on TV.
-Lightning remembers what that one Illuminati rot lady said about how the humans' eyes would be opened, and figures this is what she meant.
-Angel is fighting like a bajillion harpies by himself but he insists that he doesn't need any backup.
-I think Godaiin is trying to call Rin : (
-Japanese prime minister declares a state of emergency, instructs people to avoid going outdoors unless absolutely necessary, especially at night.
-The Takara family reassures little Tsukumo Tsukiko that everything is fine and they know some exorcists and so on.

-The exorcists are, of course, EXTREMELY BUSY
-Poor Shura is the highest-ranking member at the Japan branch with Mephisto and Lightning gone.
-She gets a report that Lightning's been detained for assault ("WTF LIGHTNING") and then one that Yukio is missing (*bursts a vein*)
-SHE DOES NOT WANT TO HAVE AN OFFICE JOB ANYMORE THANKS

-Day 2 of everything being chaos
-Kyoto branch also EXTREMELY BUSY
-Konekomaru is going to Kyoto to bring them the Koumaken : o
-Suguro is going to finish whatever it was Lightning wanted him to do
-Izumo is awkwardly standing in a hallway with Belial, who tells her to contact him if she needs anything and then straight up vanishes.

-She goes into the room where Shiemi is sleeping and goes "Moriyama Shiemi..." all wistfully
-And Shiemi is like "Yeah?" lol
-She actually woke up a little bit ago
-Shiemi gets brought up to speed. Everyone? Uninjured. Yukio? Gone. Rin? Mephisto's probably got him locked up somewhere.

Okay, so that was the real use of the key and not as Shiro told Rin to hide anything anywhere? Did Shiro lie? Anyway, I'm curious about this: "Go to wherever you want/feel like." What point of the time will Rin choose to visit? Right before he and Yukio were born or a lot earlier than that?

I don't know, if Rin won't be able to interact with the past, why give him a poncho to hide himself? The impression I got is that he COULD interact with people if he WANTED to but Mephisto left the choice to Rin. Wonder if he's gonna make the correct ones. But if Mephisto didn't tell him nothing, I guess he trusts Rin will.

Also, I think this adds to the theory that Mephisto has been planning all the happenings so far using his time powers. What if he could do that and did it all the time so far? He traveled back to the past, saw what happened and in the present timeline changed/set things around to have some events happen the way he wanted.

D-day 2? So we did indeed get a time skip? Has Rin started traveling in the past already? How does this shet even work? Will he take a tour of a few hours but it will last for days in the present timeline? No, wait, I don't like this kinda things, too complicated.

Oh!... Sweet! After one whole month waiting for nothing colossal to happen, not to mention TWO FREAKING MONTHS WITHOUT SEEING YUKIO, I'm totally in the mood to NOT get chapter 100 in 30 days and to NOT get any Yukio for a total of 4 months from now.

I'm gonna survive, I swear, but if Kato-sama is really going to have Yukio pop up again in 24 chapters from now (2 FREAKING YEARS OF RL TIME), I'm not.

Hold on a sec. Doesn't Kato-sama usually take her month break on June or July? If she's taking a hiatus now DON'T TELL me she's gonna take one again during this year? I mean, I understand she overworked this last month and all that and she needs (DESERVES) some rest, but...

It sounds cliche but it honestly works in my head. Naked Rin emphasizes that Rin continues to seek change when he isn't that way deep inside, choosing his current life over another with Shirou and Yukio (as a doctor probably) would give weight to his statement about his 16 years of living being his. Not to mention this could also build another conflict point between him and Yukio in their next meeting as I feel like Yukio would pick the reset button if it existed.


Yeah I'm not saying  it'll end, just that it feels like it. But like you said there are couple of otger unexplored plot points for it to finish anytime soon. Still, ever since the Inari arc I feel like the plot has been moving noticeably faster.

As I said, I don't know, could it be possible that Mephisto gave such a freedom to Rin? To change the past as he likes? Than what would've Mephisto been working that hard to make things go the way they did for if Rin could just screw all that in a sec?
