Aww! Rin's cute antics are nice and all, but his determination to make Yukio feel better is what really melts my heart. (As you aptly put, as we wait for everything to be horrible between them forever.)

The part that really got me was when Rin was begging for a cell phone and then Shirou said "maybe when you're grown up." PRETTY MUCH THE LAST THING HE EVER DID WAS GIVE RIN A CELL PHONE.

Oh my god. You're right, a cell phone was literally the last thing Shiro gave him. I did not even catch that.

Aww! I'm really liking how the story keeps Yukio in-character even at a young age. He's super quick at figuring out what Rin was up to, but there's also the shades of what he'll become. While his intentions are adorable, he is already surprisingly dishonest. He doesn't bring up his worry about Rin to Nagatomo and instead just smiles, then there's his whole plan to just go back to the monastery and pretend they never noticed Rin left.

I wish the snow would stop at least, Yukio thought, looking up at the cloudy sky past his umbrella. That way his brother would be just a little bit less cold.

I wonder if Rin thought the same during chapter 93.

“Two yolks…” Rin’s eyes widened like saucers at the two yolks plopped down next to each other in the bowl.

A grin spread across his scratched-up face.

“It’s me and Yukio!”

Someone KILL ME. I can't...

I forgot reading part 6 so I was a lil behind. This novel it's just too much, it shouldn't be allowed to exist in the same world where the manga does too. It's too cruel.

Thanks Facets for translating the whole story!

“And someday I’ll be able to go out drinking with them…”

How happy he would be when that day finally came. And how hard it would be to wait…

He imagined himself merrily getting drunk as his two sons, both grown into fine adults, poured him more sake. His chest suddenly felt tight.
