Blue Exorcist: The Movie (Anime Movie)

As most of you probably already know, there's an animated Blue Exorcist movie in the works.

According to the latest news, it should be in the theaters by the end of december.

I wonder what to expect of this? The anime was kinda weird, but then again, the animation itself was really good, so they only need to fix the storyline.

As far as we know, the movie could be based on the anime, based on the manga, or it could be an entirely new story... normally I'd be hoping for the latter, but in that case it better not be the writers from the anime who are in charge. If they are, I hope they will stick to the manga.

Personally, I found the anime pretty disappointing. Regardless, I'm actually pretty excited for the movie.

I have a feeling it's gonna be an anime verse story. Though it seems, like in recent chapters, some of what was in the anime is actually canon to a degree.
Though I think the movie is going to be a more exclusive story. That's what anime movies are usually like right?

I think, as long as they don't try too hard, stick to the solid elements, this movie won't be entirely disappointing.

^ In my experience anime movies tend to go too far. They are usually based on some little thing that has been said during the anime, and from there on it's just blown out of proportions (FMA: The Sacred Star of Milos is a good example...)

^ I didn't know that one, only Shamballa. It was good only thanks to amounts of brotherly love between Ed and two Als (Ed/Al shipper 4eva!)

I don't expect great things from AnE movie, especially after the anime (its second part, to be precise), but aren't manga-based movies basically fanservice anyway?

^ Totally a fanservice. I think it's got as much to do with the movie as color pages have with the manga story. Which is - not so much, actually.

The only problem with looking forward to the anime movie is that it'll be FOREVER until it comes out o DVD, gets put on the internet and gets subtitled... I'll probably watch it raw but it's a bit annoying to not know what's going on.
