Well, I guess the speculation about Rin faking being taken over by his aggressive side turned out to be false.

Demon!Rin is unsurprisingly doing the same telegraphic punches as Rin.

I'm really starting to wish for Rin to take hand-to-hand combat classes.

Yeah, that sounds more useful for Rin than sword classes. He's getting beaten by someone not known to be a specialist in hand-to-hand combat. Osceola could probably wipe the floor with Rin.

Didnt Mephisto say that Yukio was trained in martial arts since he was a child? And even Rin's sword skills aren't that exceptional. Rin has mostly always beaten everyone with the flames and raw power rather than skill. His raw power being such that he has rarely ever relied on skill or strategy letting his friends do the thinking for him.

I'm puzzled. Is it reasonable to suffer more from an explosion than three gunshot?

Would depend on how close you are to the explosion and what kind of explosion it is, would it not?

Also regarding Suguro and Izumo, the character development with both is also nice to notice with Izumo going from laughing at him in a dangerous situation in the beginning to trying to be reassuring for him when he is in conflict, and for Suguro to go from 'I will kill renzo and die' in the beginning of the illuminati arc to being more open about his uncertainity and clear desire to not wanting to do it. Wish koneko and Renzo also had this kind of gradual and continuous character development throughout the series but I have completely given up on (atleast) Renzo ever having any gradual growth as a character.

And the sibling fight continues

https://mangaplus.shueisha.co.jp/viewer/1007473

It is hilarious watching Izumo trying to sound stalwart and reassuring to Suguro only to be called rugged instead.

These kind of lines really make me feel Renzo is going to end up a villain beaten by Suguro and Izumo.

Hopefully this victory will have some improvement on Yukio's inferiority complex. Also good of Yukio to state why Renzo is absolutely useless right in his presence.

Given Yukio's line about Rin's form signifying an unstable nature, I guess he already suspects that Rin has a crazy alternate persona.

Although Yukio complains Rin isn't listening at all, looks like Rin does understand Yukio's situation more, at least the Satan part.

So ... what would Rin do? People had been commenting that Rin was acting like an idiot or cook instead of a protagonist confronting Satan. Now it's time to see if he can get serious and effectively handle Satan. Or maybe he'll talk to Satan? Knowing the past tragedy, he should has some comments ...

Given that he accidentally punched Yukio with such force that would have killed him if he didn't have Satan's protection and only realised the screw up after, it is safe to say he is still acting like an idiot. Also it seems clear he doesn't know about Yukio's current actions in the illuminati but has developed some understanding of Yukio's rebellious thought process and inferiority superiority complex.

They more or less mentioned the point during their conversation with Yukio, but they failed to precisely focus on the topic, to demand a solid answer, to corner Yukio to a point that he must reconsider his judgement. Rin goes from "talk to me whenever you want to talk" to "we can go home now". Shiemi was like "you have many friends and they are worrying." Bon was "tell me what's wrong." Shima was "talk to somebody, or join Illuminati." Lightning was "what do you want to know so much?" In each case, they either asked about Yukio's (abnormal) behavior, or told Yukio some suggestion/instruction. However, Yukio thinks these talks are meaningless since he thinks he is smart enough and understand his own situation and concludes that he knows the best (or the only) way for his problem.

Fundamental problem: Yukio didn't consider the possibility that other people might come up with some alternative choice which could be better than what he had decided by his own. Turns out nobody can skip this fundamental problem and reach Yukio directly. That's what I think they should force Yukio to reconsider. Not about character or  emotional development, but about utilizing the collective intelligence of his friends and making judgement after discussion.
I think the problem is for Yukio, taking help from others especially his brother is a sign of weakness for him. His inferiority complex and his self loathing doesn't let him seek help since he associates asking for help from others with his own weakness. I don't think anyone can reach out to him properly because for him to take help he would believe that proves his weakness and that is something he never wants to see himself as.

No idea why Lucifer insists to continue the experiment. Satan on the other hand doesn't seem to care the experiment that much.

To gain Satan's favour most likely. When Egyn points there is only enough elixir for one he insists on using it for Satan first.
I wonder why he is adamant on knowing Yukio's location. Chinonamida's translation seems to imply he wants Yukio shown where he belongs but this translation seems to imply he just wants his or Satan's location.

Also it is arrogant of Yukio to claim sole credit for destroying the illuminati when it is Lightning's familiars that are doing it.

So now Yukio has gone from " I will be stronger than my brother" to "I want my brother to kill me so I won't be used by the order or the illuminati". His continued angst is now starting to feel annoying (unless Yukio is trying to trick his brother into nearly kill him to scare off Satan from his eyes) .

Pretty good chapter overall.

So it seems Satan knew where Rin was all along.

Though a key that allows you to travel across space and time and even interact with the past. That is a pretty OP artifact.

Also the way Yukio was holding that rod, was he planning to stab his eye out?

I just realized, Satan does take action (sending Shiratori) earlier than either Lucifer or Mephisto finished preparing his body. However, Shiratori (I mean the demon possessed him) was unsure that Rin is the target, which means Mephisto didn't tell Satan the exact position of his demon son. Likewise, Lucifer had to examine Yukio's eye by himself, which means Satan didn't tell Lucifer this connection. Therefore, all three of them don't trust each other. Then we have at least three major players each have their own agenda in the whole story ...

Given that Satan possessing Yukio's eye seemed to only happen in the impure king arc it might also be that Lucifer simply didnt go back to Gehenna to ask Satan given the state his body was in. Even mephisto seemed to clearly know about Satan and Yukio's connection since he said they had more viewers in the impure king arc despite Satan most likely not telling him given he doesnt trust Mephisto. I dont think there are any trust issues between Lucifer and SatanSatan as of now atleast.

^I on the other hand think that while Takezou is definitely dead, there is a slight chance there might be some interesting development with regards to Juzo and Renzo. Although i am not holding much hope since personally Renzo's arc since chapter 65 has felt severely disappointing till now.

I also think the Nehaus's wife revival plot in the anime is going to make its way in some form in the manga.

I also bet that Lucifer will end up possessing Angel.

But doesnt Shemihaza's nephilim state that she was going to resign from the Grigori. So she is no longer part of the grigori. Also does that mean Armumahael and Azazel's nephilim can also enter baal? Wonder why they were not in the meeting with Satan where the rest of the baal and Shemihaza's nephilim were.
