^ The biggest problem with this, is that Rin and Yukio's names were originally reversed, for.. whatever reason.

So she originally named the guy with the fire powers Yukio, then realised it made no sense and changed it... I don't believe she thought all that hard about it, is what I'm saying.

^ Rin has at least three different 'triggers', all unlocking a different form of demon power. We don't know much about Yukio yet, but it's possible he skipped the first step and doesn't have a third.

Don't forget, Rin has a whole shopping list of human and demon forms, so I doubt anyone has bothered to invent names for all of them. When talking about his 'demon form' though, people usually mean his Assiah full-demon form. I don't think the existence of a (potential) Gehenna full-demon form is common knowledge.

I once wrote a list of them on MF...

- sealed/normal human form (powers sealed by KK): not quite as human as you'd think, given that he could lift a car at age 10-12. Still, good enough to fool almost everyone including himself.
- half-awakened human form (KK's control slipping): still human-looking, but can see demons. Seems to have occured spontaneously after Rin reached a certain age.
- full-awakened human form (KK's control slipping more): still human-looking, but can see demons & cast blue flames. Awakened by mortal danger.
- sealed/normal half-demon form (seal broken, but KK sheated): half-human looking, with full tail, but relatively unnoticeable ears and fangs. Awakened by drawing KK for the first time.
- released half-demon / Assiah full-demon form (KK unsheated): quite demon looking, with tail, long airs and fangs. Archieved by drawing KK (stays as long as the sword is unsheated).
- Gehenna full-demon form? (in Gehenna): Satan suggested that Rin would take on another form upon moving to Gehanna. However, we haven't seen it yet, nor do we have any confirmation that it exists.

I adapted the list of demon forms for Yukio:

If we assume he was a demon from the start, it's possible that seeing demons came with the blood and that Shiro wrongly assumed it was the result of a mashou. Also, since he doesn't have a seal (as far as we know), I guess he won't be able to go back and forth between normal and activated half-demon like Rin does.

1 - Astaroth: in the above pic is the only Baal that apparentely doesn't have a peculiar hairstyle but back when he possessed Reiji Shiratori at the beginning of the manga, he's shown to have horns so prolly we just can't see em well in this picture. Sure, none of the other Baal seems to have horns. So I guess this is him.

We never saw Astaroth in the manga. That was an invention of the anime makers.

Let's see. Obviously you already know how to post. To reply to someone else's post, you can use the 'Quote' button in the upper right corner of the post.

To make threads, you go to the subforum where you want your thread to go and you use the 'New topic' button in the upper right corner (or 'New poll', if you want a topic with a poll).

So far for the very concise version. If you need more explanation, feel free to ask, I can make it longer. Or you can have a look at the manual if you want to know all the options.

- Did... did Shiemi multiply? Who's the copy behind Renzou?
- Is that a love interest or a little sister thing? Either way, Koneko doesn't seem thrilled.
- Remember we once felt bad for Renzou for getting kicked all the time? That was long ago.
- What is Yukio making that has them so surprised?
- There's his fake smile again.
- Well, that conversation could've gone better.
- I guess Yata got tired of hiding.
- 'the hell is wrong with this family.
- Poor Rin. He's so honest with his feelings, but the people he loves keep shooting him down.
- Is that a bride thing? Covering up before the wedding?

Well, at least it looked like Yukio took Rin seriously for a second there. Though their relationship hasn't improved, it would already help if Yukio got to see Rin as an actual person instead of the outdated image he's got in his head.

What defines "strong, female character" to people anyway?

I always considered Bulma from Dragon Ball a strong female character. Physically she's probably the weakest of the entire cast and she's constantly getting in trouble and asking the boys for help (or manipulating them into helping her), but damn, girl, she knows what she wants and nobody ain't gonna stop her.

(Granted, one of the things she wants is a boyfriend, but rather than play sweet & pretty and wait for boys to notice her, she goes hunting for one. She's pretty independent, is what I'm saying.)

I think most translation groups don't care too much, since they know the Viz translation is already out there.

And I think not too many people are willing to upload the Viz translation to such sites because that's not a grey area (like scanlations), it's downright stealing.

Is there a way to have the posts go from most recent to least recent its kinda hard to maneuver through posts back from 2012 when i wanna know what merch is out presently.

You can change it in your personal settings.

Profile -> Look and Layout -> mark "Show most recent posts at the top" -> confirm with "Change profile" button.

One thing that always perplexes me is in the very beginning where Mephisto arrives to kill Rin (Ch:1 Pg:62) but is so amused by what Rin says he changes his mind. However later at Mephisto's trial he states it was his plan all along to raise Rin as a weapon for the order. (Ch:14 Pg:31)

I thought maybe he made this up to convince the order not to execute Rin but in Shura's flashback a conversation with Shiro he says the same thing (Ch:10 Pg:25). This was clearly their game plan all along so why threaten to kill him at all?

Was the whole thing to Kill Rin just for show? Or am I thinking too hard about this and Kato just forgot.

It gets worse when you consider that Mephisto is the one Rin was supposed to go to for protection. Not really following the job description there, were you, Mephy?

Chances are he knew exactly how it would happen. Even if Rin submitted to death, he would probably wake up in a cell and be given an ultimatum to do what Mephisto wanted.

Except he didn't, because I'm pretty sure Rin's words actually surprised him. This was a reaction he hadn't foreseen.

Of course he was gonna get his way anyway; just a minor change in plans.

Though I think "Exorcist exam arc" is a bit misleading of a name, since we still haven't seen any exam yet.

Tbh, it sounded weird to me too. I took those arcs names from a BE wikia. I accept any alternative title suggestion

Wait, no, nevermind. That could be almost any arc. No I don't like him how can you tell

Yukio Awakening Arc? It IS the first time we get confirmation of his powers...
