^ We already have member titles based on postcount (you just made Junior Second Class).

Wouldn't it be confusing if titles like Administrator and Moderator were changed as well? We shouldn't assume that everyone who comes here has read all of the series. It's important that people know who to contact in case of trouble, even if they aren't veterans.

Changing the admin and mod names around is no biggie. It's also pretty easy to infer who's the mods and admins. If you want to make it easier, you can colorcode, like making admin names blue and mod names red, or something like that. It's pretty difficult to look around for an admin by sifting through all the titles instead of seeing a color.

Plus, you might want to expand titles to scanlators and artists. That's how MH does it.

Question: Would you guys prefer one general speculation thread, or should I make new ones for every chapter?

New speculation threads is a bad idea. Just make one giant one for now. If the forum's population increases, then you might have to divvy it up, but only then.

I'd prefer one big speculation thread. Small threads often die fast if the discussion only takes a few posts.

Delete posts should be an option as long as posts are not officially deleted - just hidden for all but the moderator team. That keeps the post intact while dealing with the matter.
I don't think the software supports that, either. Unless you're able to write your own version of the program...

Here we go: Under Boards settings, you turn on "recycling of deleted topics". You then fill in the "Board for recycled topics". You hide the Board (make it only visible for admins and mods). Then you allow all users to delete posts.

Thus, you will still be able to recover those posts but to the member and public audience, they are deleted.

I just don't see why we can't edit our posts type "delete" and let the admin delete it?

^^ Alright, I did that. Can you make and delete a post to test it?

I hope I can still delete mesages in that board...

EDIT:
Alright, it works.

When you start getting a high amount of traffic, it becomes alot harder. Furthermore, most forums have it. So it feels odd not to.

Restoring and permanently deleting posts works too. Good.

You still can't delete whole topics though. I don't know any forum that allows that.

Glad that worked.

With whole topics - you can just close and move them into a trash disposal sub-board. The only times I've seen this done is for a dead topic on a larger forum or a topic that devolves into flame wars (typically pairing debates or politics.)

If anybody would prefer a more informal environment to chat about usual issues, a chat board is possible. All depends on what you guys want.

a chat board is possible.
That must be about the most unhelpful description ever. And it's old.

If I am going to install a chat, I'd like something a bit more recent and that gives me an idea of what it's going to look like, like this or this... btw, what's the difference between a shoutbox and a chat?

^ Sure. But not right now, I've got my first exam in two days and I'd like to have time to be around in the beginning.

Any preference? Else I'm probably going with the last one (if it works). I like the idea of the people in the chat showing up below the active members.
