Music in AnE
« on: March 30, 2014, 09:46:48 AM »
Okay one more thread for you to spam! :3

This is for music in AnE like soundtracks and character songs etc - hope we can collect here all existing material for everyone to find easily but also to discuss of it!

***

I heard/read somewhere that Hiroyuki Sawano, the composer of AnE anime soundtrack, has also made music to Attack on Titan anime(?) but not sure. I still find AnE soundtrack all in all better and more 'whole'.

My fav tracks must be "A-maimon, eXoRcIsT, sAtAn and D-Evil" (hope they were written like that!) because I like songs with faster 'beat' and they rise feels in me ;______; plus reminds of SW episode 3 music in their darkness - and the tracks has also sometimes choir which gives really a catholic and religious feeling which is great for this kind of series :)

Wow we have the same taste.

There are two soundtracks, plus a movie soundtrack and an unplugged analog-instruments-only version.

First soundtrack is way better than the second, except the second has a few good songs on it. The composer intentionally put the catchy stuff on the first soundtrack.

He also did the Titan music, AND the music for Gundam Unicorn.

My favorite of the OP/ED is actually Wired. It's so catchy.

I'm actually not much for Sawano's work. It's a shame because I like KILL la KILL and Attack on Titan but I don't think the soundtracks fit. The only track I like in the AnE OST is Mephistopheles, but that's just because I think it fits Mephisto really well.
People also seem to like the second opening more, but I prefer the first one.

^oh Tardar same taste again! I prefer Wired Life too xDD

@Wikke
I like only little more of 2nd opening song but I know quite A few ppl who finds 1st one better! I thought I was minority in liking the 2nd...

But it is rare how I like almost everything in AnE music, OP and ED included... It is rare for me ^^ I am not type to complain but I can over-analyse because in school here you need to analyse everything in every subject and it sticks -.-

They seem out of place during the show after you listen to them alone. But they're the type of thing you can pop on you iPod, and listen to even if you're not much of an OST person.

I think my most favourite song on the soundtack is U & Cloud.
Love mephistopheles one as well!
There were quite a few in that soundtrack that when I first listened to them I actually cried >.<;; And I did a few times after that! (tomorrow is another day, i-AM, Aria, M, and HEiW@→KiZUN@)

I think the soundtrack is perfect for AnE though, and love every bit of it.
I like how they are titled, too. Like ''D-Evil'' can be ''devil'' or it's making ''the'' be pronounced ''d'' so it's ''the evil'' but pronounced as ''dee evil''. At least that's how I interpret it. :>

The openings I swing back and forth on. Sometimes I like the 1st one better, sometimes I like the 2nd one better.
I know I listen to both a great deal though XD
The endings, I prefer wired life there.

Did anyone want to know the rapper's name in the Movie OST? It's David Whitaker. Credit to the guy on Youtube who told me that XD

And I like the ''too late to stay'' in the Plugless album.

One of my favourite tracks would be U and Cloud as well. I would say that I like the Plugless version a bit more, mainly cause I'm a sucker of a saxophone.

A lot of the tracks are absolute gold. Seriously, Hiroyuki Sawano outdid himself with all the AoEx soundtracks. My favorites are Exorcist, X, F, A-maimon, Tomorrow is another day, Plugless: Matsuri , D-Evil , U & Cloud , and Blue. The wierd part is how some tracks have single letters as their names. lol

Well I know when a song good for me when I can put on my phone. I have:

- Battle Scars (Who's the guy rapping BTW?)
- U and Cloud (Both the Original and Plugless versions)
- Matsuri
- Me & Creed
- Mephistopheles

Not to mention the character songs for Rin and Yukio and 4 versions of Core Pride.
